SJPD Arrests Suspect in 2021 Homicide After Fleeing to Mexico SJPD Bắt Nghi Phạm Án Mạng năm 2021 Sau Khi Trốn Sang Mexico

The San Jose Police Department (SJPD) has announced the arrest of a fugitive wanted for a 2021 homicide in San Jose. The suspect, who fled the country shortly after the incident, was located in Mexico and extradited back to the United States.
On June 4, 2021, at approximately 7:46 PM, SJPD patrol officers responded to the area of 4100 The Woods Drive following reports of a shooting. Officers arrived to find an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to investigators, the shooting occurred in front of the victim’s family and stemmed from a dispute over a parking space. Detectives from SJPD’s Homicide Unit quickly identified the suspect as Uatesoni Joseph Paasi, who fled the United States immediately after the crime and was believed to be hiding in Mexico.
On November 22, 2025, with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force and Mexican authorities, Paasi was located and arrested in Rosarito, Mexico.
On December 2, 2025, SJPD detectives successfully extradited Paasi back to the United States, where he was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on murder charges.
“If you want to play hide and seek, know that we will find you, no matter what country you cower in,” said SJPD Chief Paul Joseph.
“Our relentless pursuit of dangerous and violent suspects is not defined by borders. There is no place on Earth a murderer can hide from San Jose police.”

Sở Cảnh Sát San Jose (SJPD) vừa thông báo đã bắt giữ được nghi phạm trong một vụ án mạng xảy ra năm 2021 tại San Jose — người này đã bỏ trốn khỏi Hoa Kỳ ngay sau vụ việc và bị truy nã suốt hơn ba năm.
